Do you ever feel like your success is a mask? You work hard, exceed expectations, and are admired by everyone around you, yet inside, there's a nagging emptiness. Despite looking like you have it all together, do you still feel inadequate, anxious, or secretly exhausted from always needing to prove yourself? What if it didn’t have to be this way?
For years, I wore a similar mask. As a highly praised medical doctor with peer-reviewed research, I had built a life that looked purposeful and successful. But beneath the accolades and appearances, I was deeply struggling. Exercise had become my secret escape, a desperate attempt to feel in control amid the chaos within. Constantly pushing myself to meet impossible self-imposed standards and fill the emptiness inside led to chronic fatigue and total depletion. The day everything changed was February 25, 2022. After difficult discussions with a distressed family of a terminally ill patient, decades of suppressed grief and emotions erupted. Losing my mother to breast cancer at nine had unknowingly shaped my life, and I could no longer keep going, detached and robotic, serving others at the expense of my own well-being. This breakdown became my breakthrough—igniting a journey to find true peace, love, and self-worth.
